We are in unprecedented times in terms of the global, always-on organization. Creating impact is a goal of many projects and collaborations in the Tech Industry. What does this impact look like to us? What are its boundaries, contexts, and possible unintended consequences? And how can you design with this awareness?

 

This conference takes a reflective and critical look into the wider implications of technologies in society, developing intentional awareness on those implications in our design, making, and research. We'll examine the contexts of our [corporate and academic] work — where technologies take shape, the audience's these technologies seek to address, and the design approaches, research methods, and the ethics surrounding these technologies. We'll have talks that investigate the wider implications of ongoing projects.
